Subscriptions can feel like they’ve* got you over a barrel.

I’ve not been tempted by clothes subscriptions mostly because I wouldn’t trust anyone, especially a stranger or an algorithm to pick for me. I’ve spent years honing, testing, experimenting and I’m arrogant enough to believe I’d do it better.

*whomever they are.

“Paying tithes to corporations” took me out. And seriously, YES—try to go in person and try stuff on!!

Another great piece by you. Speaking for myself as someone who works in video, and must pay Adobe a monthly subscription just to edit videos: they raise the prices every year, often by over $10, and if you try to cancel your subscription *Adobe forces you to pay for the rest of the fucking year.* I've subverted this by speaking to an associate, but these are rapidly dwindling thanks to AI. It is wholly unsustainable in this current economy.

How does that saying go? “You will own nothing and you will like it!” The big business of subscriptions is definitely not sustainable for our wallets. Thanks for reading and for sharing🙏🏻
